Part-Time Group Accountant

REMOTE FIRST/ PERMANENT / FULL-TIME

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Part-Time Group Accountant. You will play a key role within the finance function, taking ownership of core accounting activities, ensuring accurate and timely reporting, and supporting effective financial decision-making across the group. Your team and your role

You are a proactive and detail-oriented finance professional who will play a key role in supporting the financial management of the group. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong financial controls, and providing insight to support decision-making across the business. 

Working as part of an impact-focussed finance function, you will work closely with the Finance Director and take ownership of core accounting activities. 

Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to: 

Financial Reporting & Control 

  • Prepare and review monthly management accounts and group consolidations (2 legal entities, UK & US based) 

  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records across multiple entities 

  • Support the year-end process, including audit preparation and preparing annual report 

  • Maintain and improve financial controls and accounting policies 

Month-End & Day-to-Day Accounting 

  • Oversee key aspects of the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting 

  • Prepare all journals and balance sheet reconciliations 

  • Support cashflow management and working capital oversight 

Process Improvement & Systems 

  • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, controls, and efficiency 

  • Support the implementation and optimisation of finance systems and reporting tools 

  • Contribute to automation and continuous improvement initiatives 

Compliance & Governance 

  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements 

  • Prepare UK VAT returns & annual reports 

  • Maintain robust documentation and audit trails 

Cross-Team Collaboration 

  • Work closely with operational and commercial teams to ensure accurate financial information flow 

  • Support leadership with ad hoc analysis and reporting requirements 

Your Skills

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent) 

  • Previous experience in audit or supporting audit processes, including preparing audit documentation and working with external auditors, is desirable   

  • Strong technical accounting knowledge, with experience in financial reporting, consolidations, and month-end processes 

  • Analytical thinker and team player; a self-starter who takes ownership, solves problems proactively, and demonstrates excellent attention to detail 

  • Ability to interpret financial data, provide insight, and support strategic decision-making across the business 

  • Comfortable working with financial systems, with an aptitude to learn new technologies and tools relating to reporting, automation, and data analysis 

  • Experience working within a tech, SaaS or start-up/scale-up is advantageous but not essential 

  • A genuine interest in using finance as a tool to support positive change, including contributing to a more sustainable future and the role of technology in delivering benefits to business and society 

Our offer

💸 Basic salary of up to £30,000 for a 2-3 day per week role, depending on experience.
